Inc. manufactures compact, high-power laser diode arrays.
Our proprietary SiMMtec
design is based on the patented Silicon Monolithic Microchannel
(SiMM) cooled array invented by Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory. Our state of the art manufacturing facility
is located only minutes south of the Penn State Electro-Optics
Center in Freeport, PA.
The
SiMM’s integrated microchannel cooling allows
for the diode bars to be driven at high currents, in
excess of 200A for QCW and 100A for CW operation. The
precision alignment of the bars, and the fluxless soldering
contribute to its greater output power, cooling capability,
and long life.
For
example, in the QCW mode, at a 10% duty cycle, the peak
power from our standard 10-bar array exceeds 2kW. Refer
